It appears that hybrid vehicles will be the next step in conquering pollution and fuel economy, which is why all the major car makers have begun producing hybrid engine vehicles. A hybrid SUV, however, might sound a little counter productive, what with the reputation for, well, gutlessness that most hybrids have. That's why the new 2010 Ford Escape Hybrid has surprised so many who drive it.

The 2011 Ford Escape offers all but one new feature over the 2010 model: HD Radio. Owners now can listen to higher-quality radio in their vehicle where HD Radio is available.

The 2011 Ford Escape is available in three trims -- the base XLS, XLT and top-of-the-line Limited. An all-wheel drive system is optional. The Escape also comes in a hybrid version, which is reviewed separately and costs $9,000 more than the gas-only Escape.
