Suzuki Equator makes a great comrade-in-arms

But, if the most time you spend outside is walking from your car to your office, you may want to pass on the Equator (or any compact truck, for that matter). Reviewers say that its interior is easy-to-clean and basic—great for taking through mud and muck, but not so comfortable for driving carpool. Plus, while the Equator is a decent on-road performer, not-so-great gas mileage and an unrefined engine could quickly grate on a long commute. If you’re a weekend warrior, the Suzuki Equator makes a great comrade-in-arms. Just make sure you’ve got something more practical for Monday through Friday.

The new equator model will be paired to either five-speed manual transmission or to the five-speed automatic transmission. It is expected that the I-4 and V-6 engines would be mated to automatic transmission. The maximum towing capacity of the next generation pickup truck will be 6500 pounds. The 2010 Equator will have the capacity to accommodate up to five passengers.
